Q:Hello,
Is it possible for a pregnant cat to go into heat? I thought my cat was pregnant and now she is in heat again (I think), so I'm thinking maybe she isn't pregnant afterall, so I can go ahead and have her spayed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Best,
Kathleen

A:Kathleen, I think you need to take your cat to the vet and get the 'lowdown' on her condition. Is she exposed to toms, that you know? I wouldn't take any chances, book the appointment today.
No, pregnant cats don't go into heat.
Once you get her spayed, you can relax, no more marauding toms or writhing females, less likelihood of female cancers, etc. Just do it.

A:Some aimals go into "false preg." they show all the signs of being preg. but are not actual, I had a dog that did that every time she went into season. But to be safe, a vet check would be the best thing to do... Hopefully, it is just a simple body mix up and a false preg.
