Bring a towel or blanket home with the scent of the new pet to get your other pet used to it before bringing the new pet home. You might want to place it under your current pet’s food bowl.

Q:While on the web site for Illinois Doberman rescue, they have a puppy listed there that has puppy cataracts. They say he has them because he was given a milk supplement. I usually give my fosters Canine Mammalac, but in its advertising refers to the product as a milk replacement. Does anyone think that they could be the same products? I am very worried because I have been using both the canine and feline milk replacements for a long time. I hope that some one can help me with this.
A:I don`t really know, but I think the only way a pup that young could have cataracts would be if they were congenital. Our old dog had them as a pup but didn`t loose her sight completely until she was about 8; one of her littermates had very bad cataracts at birth. The only thing I know of that actually causes cataracts are steriods, like prednisone use can cause them in people. I hope you hear from someone that knows more about whats in the milk suppliments.
