How To Dog Proof a House
Raise blinds high enough to be out of reach. Dogs like to jump on windowsills when you’re gone, and low hanging blinds usually get damaged in the process.

Q:Hello. I have a 2 1/2 year old male cat who has had a sneezing problem since he was around 4 months. When i got him i took him and his sister to the vet and they both had colds the vet said.. His sister got better but he didnt so a couple weeks later we went back to the vet and said it could be allergies... we've changed our soap, detergent, even moved to another house (not becuz of that lol ) but nothing has helped and its been 2 years now. Weve took him to the vet once more and they cant figure anything wrong with him. Its constant sneezing with thick discharge that comes out although somedays its a lot better then others. Its not contagious because we have other cats and none of them have any symptoms. Also i dont know if this has anythign to do with him but the past 6 months hes had a personality change.. he used to be the sweetest cat and now hes totally unpredictable and hes turning on all the other cats. He gets very stiff when you pick him up and spazzes out about everything. Anybody have any idea?? anything is appreciated thanks
A:The fact that he is unwell is probably making him irritable. Have they ever tried to culture the mucus? I think you have to push further with this, maybe find a veterinary school that would be willing to treat him.
What is he eating?

A:well ive been to the vet so many times and they never have an answer so i didnt feel like throwing more money away to go and have them tell me the same thing again and they wont accept payment plans. how would i go about finding a veterinary school? no they havent done that.. they just gave us wipes for his nose and antibiodics which helped but then it came right back. Weve tried different foods with him but now he has purina indoor formula and occasionally some fancy feast can food
A:Something simple to change is the food, and will cost you less than another vet visit. Hit the food forum here for some ideas, though I have 2 dogs, I know changing their food at one point (from mid-quality to high) made a difference in everything. You can start your own tests on him by looking at the ingredient list of the foods you're currently feeding him, then go to your local pet store or look on the web, and find a good quality food without those ingredients. See how he does and then go from there. There are a ton of cat folks here on this board that could give you tons of advice regarding food, so hang in there, I know it's tough to have a beloved furry that is having rough times (been there done that with one of my dogs), but there are things you can do to work through it from your end, which will in turn help a vet or a teaching hospital help you and your kitty Good luck, please keep us posted on how you fare
