Q:Hello All -

My 7 year old pug, Duke, was diagnosed with a brain tumor on Friday. He has had 2 siezures (that we know of) and has been doing the head shake for the last two weeks. I have decided to hold off on starting siezure medications for a month and observe him (and track the frequency of the siezures). Those are the only two effects he has show so far.

Does anyone have experiences with brain tumors in dogs? Did it quickly progress? I would really like to know what to expect and what others have been through. It doesn't have to be sugar coated. I would just like honest experiences. Needless to say this diagnosis hasn't been easy.

Thank you!
A:My old lab had a brain tumor... I'd say it progressed for a year and a half to two years. She gradually had more seizures and got pretty cranky. In the end, she had one major seizure that she just couldn't come out of, even with the proper drugs.:(

Good luck.
