How To Keep Dogs and Cats From Fighting
Bring a towel or blanket home with the scent of the new pet to get your other pet used to it before bringing the new pet home. You might want to place it under your current pet’s food bowl.
..:::How To Pet
Q:We have a 13 week old puppy. We took her outside a lot last night because she had a lot of energy. This morning, she seems pretty sick. She is shivering on and off. She'll get up to walk around for a little bit, but mostly just lays down. She hasn't eaten or drank all morning and she has had 4 bowel movements. She will still eat a treat and gets excited for that, but that's the most we got from her all morning.
Could she have just eaten something bad when we had her outside?

Thank you very much for any help!
A:How long have you had this puppy? Has she had any vaccinations? If you only got her recently, and she had no shots, her symptoms could indicate one of a number of problems. Hopefully it's something not serious.

Take her to the vet right away!!. Small puppies get dehydrated very easily if they don't drink and/or have diarrhea and this alone is serious.
A:Thank you for your response. We have had her for 3 weeks now and is up to date on her vaccinations.

She is starting to do better. She has been drinking, but still no appetite.
A:My puppy got giardia, possibly from eating bird poop from under the feeder. A short course of Flagyl cleared it right up - he was listless and unwilling to eat or drink - though no shaking.

Even with vaccinations puppies are pretty susceptible to stuff, there's a window from the time they lose the mother's immunity and when the vaccinations take hold.

Another thing to consider is vacination reaction, you might want to ask your vet if she had some very recent shots. That is not really uncommon.
