How To Avoid a Dog Bite
If the dog starts to advance towards you, firmly give the command "NO" and "SIT." Most dogs know the commands "no" and "sit." The dog may not sit, but it will sometimes stop the dog from coming at you.

Q:My 2 yr. old cat lost one of his front teeth. What could have caused this and how concerned should I be?
A:Is there an odor coming from the mouth? Look for infection.
But if it all looks ok I wouldn't worry one bit about it.

A:Agree, check very carefully for infection, swelling, if he's not eating or chewing normally that would also indicate a problem. Maybe check the adjoining teeth in case it's a gum or bone problem, just a thought?
Could have caught it on anything, really. One of my dogs lost a tooth in a dogfight (oops) - I think he got it caught in the other dog's collar buckle. It's never bothered him a bit; luckily it was just one of the little bitty front teeth on his bottom jaw.
