How To Keep a Dog from Running Away
Use whatever your command is for inappropriate behavior such as “no” or “stay" if you see your dog trying to jump the fence or escape. Reward her with praise and a treat when she behaves.
..:::How To Pet
Q:My son's 5 yr old Daschund literally lost control of his hind end over night. He is very big and muscular and active. He loves to run and jump. Due to his "hyperactivity" we lock him in a carrier in my son's room at night. Overnight, he walks with a limp and falls to the side dragging his feet at times before getting them back under himself. He did not eat for the 1st day but has been eating for the last 2 days. No change in stools. Seems happy and still playful but not able to jump on the couch like normal. Looking for any suggestions??
A:Why has this dog not been taken to a vet?

A:Come on people!!! Does your gut feeling not tell you that there is something seriously wrong with this animal???? If it were a human, that person would be to an emergency vet ASAP. The same should be done for your pet! Get it to a vet right away!!!!!

A:Um, the only possible suggestion I can think of is that this dog needs to see a vet ASAP!! I can't imagine why this has been going on three days before you would seek help. I mean, your dog is having trouble walking, jumping and doesn't eat for an entire day and you don't think this is serious? I'd say that it would at least warrant a phone call to your vet.
