How To Avoid a Dog Bite
The best thing to do is to slowly back away from the dog without looking into the dog's eyes. Keep an eye on the dog, but don't look directly at him.

Q:hi, my dog is a terrior mixed mutt that is 9 years old. A few months ago we had her treated for cellulitis on her back leg and for allergies. Now, she is constanly dragging her butt on the ground. When she does stand, it is only for a minute, then she paces for a bit before sitting down again. She sometimes cries when we try to touch her behind. We had her anal gland emptied a few times already, but these are different symptoms then we have seen before. I looked under her tail, and there are a few raw spots happeneing because of her dragging her butt on the pavement. Any diagnosis??
A:Have you established what causes her allergies? Have you experimented with her food? Has she been wormed? Sound like she has gotten good care but it's easy to overlook the obvious. I've never had a dog so I'm just guessing.
A:Hi
They have these anal glands whose secretion needs to be removed time to time by the vet. When the secretion is big enough to bother them, they drag their butt on the ground.

A:If it's definately not the anal glands, the allergies could be back (it's the time of year for it, leaves on the ground-mold etc). She should go back to the vet as she is dragging her hind end on pave and creating open sores. If the sores are not tended to, infection will most likely set in, resulting in a higher vet bill due to antibiotics, creams etc. :(
I'd take her in, get it "nipped in the bud" before it escalates any further
