How To Dog Proof a House
Keep socks out of the dog’s reach. Socks are a favorite chew toy for many dogs. Leave them their own chew toys to play with...or some socks that already have holes. You can also put a tennis ball inside a sock, knot it...and voila...a homemade toy that dogs love.
..:::How To Pet
Q:Hi! I have a stray, outdoor cat that I've been feeding for 5 months. Recently, he seems to be losing weight though he eats voraciously - a can of wet food a night and dry food throughout the day. He regularly wheezes a little when he eats. Over the last two days, he has lost his voice, going from a cracking sound yesterday to almost no sound at all today.

The biggest problem...I don't think he'll let me pick him up. I believe he'd bite or scratch me SERIOUSLY if I tried to take him to the vet; he wouldn't let me pet him for 5 months and still hisses at me. Is there any way to give him something over the counter that could help these symptoms? Otherwise, I'm at a loss, and he may be as well.

Thank you.

A:Perhaps you could catch him in a cat trap. It could be hyperthyroidism which can be treated easily, but requires a bloodtest to diagnose. Or, perhaps wear heavy coat and wear gloves?
A:5 years is the average lifespan for cats left outdoors and he may be near that age. You need to get a humane trap and take him to the vet.

He is suffering and could have a fatal disease like leukemia or at the very least, a serious respiratory illness that requires antibiotics.

Please don't let him continue to suffer.
