How To Train Your Dog to Stop Barking
Invest in a citronella no-bark collar, which is effective and not cruel; if your dog barks, the collar sprays a small amount of citronella, which dogs dislike.

Help dogs lose excess weight by eliminating unneeded food. Being overweight has the greatest effect on the arthritis of dogs. Avoid giving your dog excess treats, too much food or human food.

Give the dog a reasonable amount of controlled exercise. The exercise should be steady and low-impact, so as not to overtax joints. The exercise should improve mobility and flexibility. The best option is walking. Take the dog on daily walks at a slow pace for a lengthy distance.

Increase muscle mass by putting the dog on a diet high in protein and low in fat. Sustaining a certain amount of muscle is important for additional joint support.

Give the dog plenty of additional supplements in its diet. The diet should include plenty of glucosamine, MSM, mega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants and Perna canaliculus. These supplements can be hard to find for animals because they are not closely regulated. Speak to your veterinarian for help in finding the right supplements.

Try an all-natural daily supplement. There are many out there, and none should be used without the knowledge and support of your veterinarian. Some of the popular ones are Lubri-ease, Connectin and Syn-Flex.
