Flush the ear out with warm water. This can be done with a plunger such as a turkey baster or with a hose attached to a warm water supply.

pour shampoo on the washcloth and gently wash out the ear, use your finger to get down into the ear canal

rinse the ear out well by flushing with warm water again

dry the ear out with a dry terry cloth towel

put in any ear drops you may have from your vet
