Make a Dog Bath Gift Basket

Choose your gift container. A flat basket works well. You may choose a plastic bucket or pan big enough to hold the bathing supplies and wet towels after the bath. At your local department store pick up the towels and washcloths. Choose utilitarian grade as they will be washed and dried often.

Roll up two bath towels. Use medium-size towels as it is easier to dry a dog with two medium towels than one large bath sheet. Add the two wash cloths to hold the other bath supplies in place.

Choose a shampoo and conditioner or a shampoo/conditioner combination. Most dogs can use the conditioning for a sleek coat. Don't worry too much about getting exactly the right shampoo for the dog. Get whatever is mild on the skin and does not smell like a flower garden. Get snap-open tops that do not have to be screwed on and off. The shampoo should squirt out easily.

A good lather brush has soft bristles and helps work the shampoo into the skin without scratching. They are usually inexpensive, easy to hold, and colorful. A hair glove is also handy. It fits on your hand like a glove and has short rubber-type stubs that loosen the dog's hair, wet or dry, and helps remove shedding hair. A bath mitt of terry cloth can help clean around the legs and belly.

For the dog put in a rubber duck or a waterproof squeaky toy. And a small bag of treats would be nice, too. OK, you are done.
