How To Avoid a Dog Bite
Never look directly into a strange dog's eyes. This can be viewed as a threat or challenge. It can trigger some dogs to bite.
..:::How To Pet
Catch your uncomfortable pooch. Take to a quiet place.

Hold the dog's shoulders between your ankles or calves with the dog's head behind you to keep him from snapping or biting.

Lift tail into the air with one hand and fill the other hand with a good sized piece of toilet paper and press and pinch against the anus and up towards the tail.
When you press and pinch either side at the same time with the tail up, the glands will release out onto the tissue and relieve the pooch of their discomfort. Wipe clear brownish fluid away from anus.

Clean the mutt's hind end with soap and water and be sure to double that with your own hands. Flush the paper down the toilet.

You're all set. The carpet is cleaner, sofa smells better and the pooch feels less like he has to lick himself constantly to relieve the backed up gland.
