A well dressed hippie dog looks marvelous in tie dye. Although you can buy already tie dyed dog tank shirts from a variety of online outlets, it's easy enough to make your own. Head to the children's department of a local thrift store and pick out several children's tops that will fit your dog. This will only work if you have a smaller sized dog, otherwise you'll have to use adult clothing. Buy some Ritz dyes at your local craft store or a tie dye kit and create your own tie dye dog fashions in your bathtub or washing machine at home. It's much less expensive than purchasing them ready made.
Get your dog some cool shades.
To complete the hippie dog look, buy your dog some cool doggy sunglasses. Yes, they actually do make sunglasses specifically for dogs. You can find them here. Also available is protective eye wear for dogs to shield their eyes from ultraviolet light which can promote canine eye problems. Be sure to choose a hip pair of sunglasses that befits a true hippie dog.
Get your dog some hippie neckwear.
A hippie dog needs a tie dyed bandana to wear on days when it's too hot to wear his tie dyed tank. Pick up some plain, white bandanas at your craft store and use the leftover Ritz dyes from dyeing your dog's clothing to make tie dyed bandanas. Tie one on when he goes to the dog park. You can also make a collar out of love beads for your dog. Head to your local bead store and pick out the beads you need to fashion a one-of-a-kind dog collar for your little hippie canine.
