How To Keep a Dog from Running Away
Prevent your dog’s escape by physical means such as heightening the fence so he can't jump over, closing up any space underneath the fence and making sure the gate is secure.

Leave the cat in the water for a few minutes. If you have a cat that hates water, such as mine, this can be difficult. Use your hand to scoop up water and dump it over the wax covered fur. Once the wax has sufficiently softened, wrap your cat up in a towel and try to dry him/her off.
Leaving the cat wrapped in the towel (to prevent scratching) use a fine tooth comb to begin combing the wax out of the fur. If it's badly coated, hold the fur near the root so it doesn't hurt the cat. You will need to frequently clean the brush, as waxy fur will build up very quickly.
Continue combing until the majority of the wax is out. If the wax hardens, get a warm washcloth and place it over the spot for a minute or so and continue combing. Soon you cat will look a little less waxy and will be as good as new!
