How To Avoid a Dog Bite
Never look directly into a strange dog's eyes. This can be viewed as a threat or challenge. It can trigger some dogs to bite.

Pick a towel that is ready for the scrap bin as you will be cutting it.
Cut a slit about 1 1/2 " in length, roughly 1/3 of the way in from both the side and top edge of the towel.
Slip one of your cats front paws though the hole you've cut. Wrap the short edge of the towel over the other front paw, now lap the long side of the towel over this edge and continue on around the body of the cat, tucking towel under the exposed paw when you come back around. Make sure that you wrap securely but not so tight as to make you cat panic.
You should have only one front paw visible at this time with the towel covering the back feet as well. Sit on the floor with your legs out in front of you and slightly spread apart, tuck the bottom edge of the towel under your body in such a way as to effectively block the cat from getting her back feet out.
Hold the exposed paw about half way down, extend your thumb down to the pad of the foot and use it to apply slight pressure to extend the nails.
Trim each nail, being careful not to cut into the dark area of the nail.
Once the nails are trimmed, place a drop or two of glue into the first soft paw tip. Keeping the cat's paw splayed slip the tip into place and repeat.
Repeat this for each paw, flipping towel as needed so that the slit is properly positioned. When doing the back nails simply wrap the cat in the same fashion but pull you legs in so that you have the cat sitting on her rump in a sissor hold between you legs. This will secure the towel around her front legs while at the same time allowing you to pull one rear paw at a time under you leg for easy access.
