understand some general features of a beagle

Beagles as friends- they are really friendly, they will love everyone that spends some time around them, they get excited when you have visitors
note: being friendly doesn't mean they can't be rude, if your visitor is allergic or doesn't like dogs make sure your beagle is tied up.

as for fur- its short but doesn't mean it doesn't shed. their short hair can really get on clothes and having them around for a while will turn your clothing closet into a fur land.
note: doctors recommend that putting some oil in its food might reduce its shedding.

as for feeding- Beagles will eat as far as you feed them, they really like chicken meat but note that they will probably prefer it to dog food

as for hunting- never took my beagle on hunting, i know they are good for it because their nose is a wide range scent detector! Thats also the reason for most of them being lost.

as for guard- they are not strong neither large in size for them to attack, that makes them more friendly but also more unable to defend themselves. Their defense system is an alarming one( alarming his master) they have a loud bark and their extensive senses can trigger them easily. Its been cases my beagle realized someone was outside and i had no clue about it.

as for attitude- really playful and enjoy running, this makes them unable to live happily in an apartment, they like to run free and chase any other living creatures even flies. Cat chasing is its best! They like tummy rubbing. Their grooming is significantly easy, they are small sized, short haired they don't hate water.

as for being lost- they would follow an attractive scent as far as it can go and soon they realize they are lost, once they pick a smell its almost impossible(possible if well trained) to call them back. If you lose your beagle report it immediately take an immediate action, BEAGLES CANNOT FIND THEIR WAY BACK! so don't lay many hopes upon that. Get it micro chipped.
