How To Avoid a Dog Bite
Never run from a stray dog. Some dogs will chase any fast-moving target, including people. When you start to run, you can trigger the dog's predatory drives and the dog may chase you down.

Don’t attend greyhound tracks or bet on greyhound races.

Tell anyone you know who patronizes greyhound racing that it’s not a harmless sport and ask them to join you in a boycott.

If you live in a state that allows greyhound tracks (or has not yet banned greyhound racing), contact your local and state officials via email or a phone call and explain why you are opposed.

Ask your family and friends to contact their legislators and express their opposition to greyhound racing.

Look for online petitions to ban greyhound racing and add your signature. There is an ongoing one that you can sign by clicking thepetitionsite.com under Resources below.

Adopt a retired racing greyhound and encourage people you know who are considering adopting a dog to do the same. Greyhounds make wonderful family pets; all they need is a fenced in yard and the chance to exercise. Greyhound adoption events are held all over, particularly in areas that have tracks. They can also be found at rescues and shelters.

Donate money or your time to a greyhound protection organization.
