How To Keep Dogs and Cats From Fighting
Repeat the process over a few days and gradually let the pets get closer to each other. Praise the dog with a treat for calm behavior. When you feel the time is right for the dog to be unrestrained, leave the leash on just in case you need to pull him back.
..:::How To Pet
Play with the cat an hour before bedtime to get her tired, if your cat seems to have too much energy to settle down at night.

Carry the cat into the bedroom when it is time to go to bed. Give him a verbal command such as "time for bed." Bring a cat treat into the room with you.

Stroke the cat while you are carrying her into the room and talk to her in a quiet, soothing voice.

Get into bed and place the cat on your belly or chest; or along side of you on the bed. Continue talking to him in a quiet voice and petting him. Look at him and do a few exaggerated yawns. Yawning is contagious not only to humans, but to animals as well.

Give the cat the treat to reward her for getting into bed with you.

Fall asleep petting your cat and chances are good he falls asleep with you.
