How To Keep Dogs and Cats From Fighting
Keep your dog on a leash when you first introduce her to the cat. Do not hold the cat in your arms. Frightened cats may scratch. Have one person handle each pet.
..:::How To Pet
Plan ahead, well in advance. Just as you would for your own documents when traveling overseas, so too with your pet. Talk to your vet about what you'll need or at the very least where to find out what you'll need.

Let the airline know you'll be traveling with your pet. Be sure that every airline you'll be traveling on allows pets, especially if you're taking your pet into the cabin with you.

Check on your pet frequently. If your pet is in the cargo hold, chances are you won't be allowed to do this yourself, but ask the stewards to check for you.

Keep them in the carrier even during a layover if your pet travels with you (and not your luggage). The last thing you want is your pet loose in a strange airport.

Be sure to feed your pet at some point if you're on a long flight. Not too much food, especially if they're prone to getting sick, but a little bit. Your cat will probably enjoy the airline fish more than you will.
